If Streamyx Promotion have found yourself reading this article then you are probably experiencing the wide spread Xbox 360 problem when you get the 3 red light that show up on the power button.
Normally before you see the 3 red light on the power button you will Broadband Isp playing your games and the screen will freeze without any error code and you turn the xbox off thinking that it was just a glitch in the game only to find that when you switch the console back on you get the 3 red light of doom!
So does the 3 red light on the Xbox 360 mean the end of your gaming fun?
Well Yes and No as it certainly means there is a big problem with your Xbox 360 as it is telling you that you have a "General Hardware Error" and this means that one or more components inside your Xbox have failed.
Now before you start freaking out, don't worry as there are a few different things you can do to try and help the situation.
Firstly keep on turning the Xbox 360 off and back on again. I know this sounds weird but it got rid of the problem on my console when this happens and although the 3 red light will come back it will give you a few more days of playtime. The reason it happens is because the motherboard flexes due to the heat it has been taking and then the solders become loose, however if the Xbox 360 is still warm from being played on this can sometimes get it started again.
Another thing you can do is remove the hard drive from the side of the Xbox 360 if you have one as this does stop a lot of the airflow and may allow the Xbox to get more air and stop the error. Although this is a long shot but if you have the 3 red light on your Xbox then you have nothing to lose by trying right?
Lastly if you have your Xbox 360 in a display case or any other place that does not get a lot of airflow and is very warm it may well be a good idea to move the 360 somewhere near a window so it can get more air.
If the suggestions above do not work for you then you should give Microsoft a ring as another good point is they do realize there is a problem and will fix any Xbox 360 with the 3 red light free of charge.
Don't expect to get your console back anytime soon though and repairs may take up to 4 weeks to complete the repairs due to the number of consoles with problems!
